My journey to a healthier relationship with food has been difficult and rewarding. As a dancer, I used to obsess over comparing my body to those of the other dancers. I exercised to give myself permission to eat, I couldn’t decline any kind of indulgence and other priorities were so much more important than paying attention to what I put in my mouth. I suffered from chronic joint pain at a very young age from no apparent injury. I became addicted to caffeine and never felt as energetic as I felt I should. Choosing  to nourish my body came when I started choosing me. I decided I was tired of the self-depreciating thoughts and insecure feelings about my body and with a coach, I repaired my self-esteem. A lucky benefit of repairing my self-esteem was the sudden awareness of the food choices I make 3 times a day. With the belief that food and health are inextricably linked, I became more aware of the food production system in my country. I shared the information I learned with others. Some were interested to hear what I had to say, but others didn’t want to hear it. Some were even annoyed. It was then I realized why I had to become a health coach. I realized that the obesity epidemic is a symptom of misery and misinformation. It doesn’t matter how much I know about nutrition (quite a lot), because people don’t care what they put into their bodies until they love their bodies and themselves enough to make a change. I don’t just coach moms slimmer, I love them to a healthier relationship with food.

My mission is to change the course of our planet with a shift towards healthy eating and lifestyle. The current health and economic crisis of the United States can be traced directly to lifestyle related, preventable disease. Moms set the tone for lifestyle in the home. Change the mom’s lifestyle, change the family, change the world.

I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

I am a wife of ten years to Billy and mother to Alex, Anna, and Katie.
